OOU confers doctoral degree on bank CEO

The governing council of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) has conferred an honorary Doctor of Science on former boss of Access Bank, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede at its 27th convocation ceremony.

The ceremony, which was held in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun state, was in acknowledgement of Aig-Imoukhuede’s contributions to national and societal development.

During the ceremony, a former deputy vice chancellor of the university, Prof (Mrs.) Mbang Femi-Oyewo, noted that “the university only confers its honorary degrees on deserving and outstanding individuals who are exemplary in their field of endeavours and have shown strength of character.”

A fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Femi-Oyewo, presented Aig-Imoukhuede to the institution’s governing council for the conferment.

“As a symbol of the university‘s recognition of Aig-Imoukhuede’s contributions to nation building and sustainable development, as well as our association with his vast achievements in the different facets of human endeavours, the university has found him worthy of its Doctor of Science honorary degree.

Aig-Imoukuede, former CEO Access Bank is a lawyer entrepreneur and philanthropist.
