Open vote-buying rocks election in Anambra

The voting for Anambra State House of Assembly has commenced at major polling units in State.

Blueprint correspondent, monitoring the election reports that as at 8.30 am at Polling Unit (PU) 003 Isigwunwagu Central School, Nanka , Orumba North LGA, with 315 registered voters, 300 materials were received.

Also,Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials were seen ready and waiting for voters, who were coming and voting accordingly.

At PU 006 of the same Central School, 447 registered voters, received same number of materials.Similarly, at Umuezennofor Primary school, Ekwulobia 004 unit, Aguata LGA, Anambra State, with 1093 registered voters, voting commenced by 8am.

According to the INEC Polling Officer (PO),  who did not mention her name, the PU received complete ballot paper and voting going on smoothly with only one security officer present.

Speaking to Blueprint, Chief Alexander Nwosu, complained that APGA agents were allowed to go close to the voting point in a bid to influence voters.

He said there was massive vote buying by the agent.

At Umunnachi II , PU: 010 & 011, INEC officials & materials arrived by 6:30am, while accreditation and voting started by 8:05 & 8:08 am respectively.
