Opposition parties in Bayelsa accuse PDP candidate of importing thugs

Opposition candidates from Nemeb Constituency 1 in Bayelsa state on Wednesday accused Ebi Ben Ololo of peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of importing thugs on the eve of the last Saturday’s postponed election.

In a petition written to the commissioner of Police signed by Kumo George of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Doumo Ogbmani of All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Furombo Clarkson of Change Advocacy (CAP), Johnson Omeremu and West Iriakuma of  Social Democratic Party (SDP) and made available to Blueprint, they said “though looking and arm bearing non indigenes whose aim was to snatched electoral materials, intimidate and scare away voters of other political parties were imported from outside.”

They said the hoodlums were conveyed into Igbeta Iwoama community by the Personal Assistants to Ebi Ben Ololo, Mr Kenneth Dogiye with the aid of Doo-Akpo, the security outfit of Bayelsa state.

The statement reads in part: “It is pertinent to note that these thugs are not from Nembe community neither are they registered voters in Nembe.

“Why will they be shipped into Nembe if not for the purpose of disrupting the election?

“These thugs made confessional statement that some of them are from Ahoada, members of the notorious late Don Wane cultist camp in Omoku in River state, that killed the Christians that were returning home from all night worship on 31st of December,2017 breaking 1st January,2018.

“Therefore, we urge you to use your apparatus to re-arrest, investigate and prosecute all those that are involved.   In other to facilitate, we have credible witness on ground.”
