ORO condemns DSS attack on Igboho’s residence

A Pan Yoruba oganisation, Oduduwa Rights Organisation (ORO) has condemned the invasion of the residence of Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), last Thursday as blatant act of impunity, lawlessness and wickedness.

The organisation said the premeditated attack, an illegal raid and a clear violation of the fundamental rights of Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo.

The organisation also recalled that “Adeyemo, in a bid to awaken the federal government to worsening insecurity particularly as regards the havoc being wrecked by Fulani herdsmen, saying: “Since the beginning of his awakening call, Igboho has never been found wanting on the side of the law.

“There has never been any time that he has mobilised people to attack any person or destroy any property. All his moves are within his fundamental rights to personal liberty, freedom of expression and association, shortly after Igboho’s house was attacked sometime in January 2021, following which an attempt was made by some unknown security agents to whisk Igboho away, without success.

“The question is, were Sunday Igboho to be a violent person or a terrorist, would he have considered a fundamental right action at all which he instituted in his name and went to court to endorse the processes personally,” ORO querried.
