Ortom hails Buhari over appointment of new service chiefs

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state Wednesday commended President Mohammadu Buhari over his decision to appoint new Service Chiefs to replace those removed.

The Governor, however, said while the people will be supporting the new security heads, they will also be watching keenly and won’t hesitate to constructively criticize when things go wrong.

Ortom in a statement signed by his chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, stated that the Service Chiefs have come at a time the security architecture of the country needed to be rejigged to cope with the 21st century challenges of fighting insecurity.

He said Nigerians were looking forward to seeing the security helmsmen confront the challenges head-on and restore hope and confidence in the people.

Governor Ortom further said the current security situation has badly affected the socio-economic and political facets of the country’s development, requiring only a well coordinated and resolute approach in tackling the problem.

He expressed optimism that Nigerians will continue to pray to God to give the Service Chiefs the needed wisdom and will to succeed in their assignment.

The governor on behalf of the government and people of Benue State, congratulated the country’s new Service Chiefs on their appointments and
wished them a successful tenure and God’s blessing.
