Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has asked Nigerians to continue to pray for safe return of the abducted students of Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi in Yobe state.
Ortom described the incident as traumatic especially for parents and relations of the schoolgirls.
The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, urged security agencies to ensure that the rest of the girls were rescued from their abductors.
The governor said that the development came as a rude shock to him and people of Benue state, adding that any attack on children was an attack on the future of the country.
The statement read; “Governor Ortom gives assurance that the people of Benue State will continue to pray for the families in Yobe whose children are yet to return following the attack on the school.
“He states that insecurity in any part of the country should be the concern of every Nigerian and calls for timely and useful information to enable security agencies to live up to their expectations.”
