Oshimen hits double against Lesotho as Eagles win 4-2

Super Eagles hit man Victsor Osimhen shone like a million stars when he fired a brace and provided two assists for the Super Eagles to beat hosts Lesotho 4-2 to stay top of 2021 AFCON qualifying Group L.
Benin shot to second place in the standings after a 1-0 home win over Sierra Leone, while both Lesotho and Sierra Leone have a point each.


In Maseru, it was Lesotho that went in front after 13 minutes against the run of play against Super Eagles who are trying to find their feet
However, Everton forward Alex Iwobi drew Nigeria level in the 28th minute with an assist by Osimhen.
Samuel Chukwueze put Nigeria ahead for the first time on 38 minutes after another assist by the man of the moment, Osimhen.
Nigeria dominated the first half and deserved their lead going into the break.
Osimhen was first denied by the crossbar soon after the interval before he then turned from provider to scorer in the 75th minute, when he made it 3-1 courtesy of a superb assist by Ola Aina.


He completed his brace in the 84th minute.
The Lille striker has now netted four goals since his Eagles debut two years ago.
He said this week he hopes to set a new all-time goals record by surpassing the 37-goal mark of the legendary Rashidi Yekini.
Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem scored an own goal a minute from time to make the final scores 4-2.
