Oshiomhole donates N10m to rainstorm victims

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state has donated the sum of N10 million and 200 bundles of roofing sheets to victims of a recent rainstorm which wreaked havoc in Ozalla community in Owan West local government area of the state.
He said the donation was to cushion the effects of the disaster, adding that a  committee would be set up to properly identify those affected and determine how to share the N10 million.

Oshiomhole, who announced the donation during his on-the-spot inspection of the level of damage in the community on Monday, said: “The disaster that occurred here was an act of God but we thank God that from all the report, no life was lost.
“Buildings can be destroyed, it can be rebuilt, I have seen some of the buildings and they were very badly affected. I saw a very elderly woman whose roof was blown off by the rainstorm and she is now homeless. I have seen several other buildings.”

“What happened has brought untold hardship to many people in Ozalla, but God will use men and women of goodwill to bring succor and relief to the people of this community.”
Continuing, the governor said: “I would have sent relief material much earlier, but I insisted to see the extent of the devastation; so that is why I have come.”
