Oshiomhole must go, APC chieftain insists

A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Mr Charles Idahosa insisted Monday that the party’s national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, must tender his resignation for the interest and survival of the party.

Idahosa said: “From the way we have seen issues under Oshiomhole, the APC is dying gradually and there is no way somebody like me can see issues and pretend not to see it”.

He further stated that the national chairman of the party has no political home base because according to him, “he (Oshiomhole) has been suspended by his ward, Local Government Area and by the state chapter of the party”.

Idahosa accused the immediate past governor of the state of being the brain behind the fourteen members-elect of the House of Assembly for refusing to present themselves for inauguration.

The party chieftain, who stated this while speaking the crises rocking the party in the state,

Idahosa alleged that the party is losing its grip due to the “overbearing attitude of the national chairman of the party”.

According to him, “I happened to have been among the five Nigerians that have formed the Action Congress for Democrat (ACD) that is today known as APC.

“In fact, I was the one that was disowned in 2006 because they saw me at a meeting of the ACD now APC, but it is very interesting today that everybody is now claiming APC.

“That is one of the reasons I cannot keep quite. I am a founding father. I see people just coming into the party to destroy it.

“Adams Oshiomhole at that time was still carrying placards on the streets of Lagos and Abuja, protesting as a labour leader. That was when we formed this party. We knew the roles he played that time.
