‘Osimhen is new Drogba’

France goalkeeper Penneteau has likened former teammate and Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen to Ivorian legend Didier Drogba.
Drogba made name for himself in the French league one before joining Chelsea later in his career, something Osimhen is also on verge of achieving following his good performances for his French club Lille.
The 21 year is only in his first season French top side Lille but has impressed the whole of Europe after scoring 19 goals in 34 appearances for the club.
Penneteau who is Osimhen’s former teammate at Charleroi is optimistic that the Nigerian will become a great player and also likened him to African legend Didier Drogba.
“He doesn’t surprise me. When we discovered him, when he arrived, two clubs refused to take him for small physical problems.
“From the first training sessions, we saw that he was a player of another class. I said it when he arrived in Lille but for me, he may be the future Drogba of the French championship.”
“If there are at least two seasons left, he will score goals upon goals.
“He has all the qualities of a modern striker. He is fast, he jumps high, strong in duels, good with the ball, he plays in depth. He will erase his little imperfections while playing, he is a phenomenon,” added the 39-year-old goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has been linked with from the French league side Lille and he is reportedly attracting interests from AC Milan, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona
