Osimhen wants more goals after Lille debut goals

After he took the French Ligue 1 by storm, Victor Osimhen has said he wants to do more to the glory of his ailing father.

Osimhen’s two well-taken goals on Sunday ensured victory for home team Lille against Nantes on the opening day of the season in France.

“I want to continue to build on this momentum,” said the young striker, who had spent his short holidays after the AFCON in Egypt by the bedside of his sick father in Lagos.

“It’s an unforgettable moment for me and I am really happy.”

The 20-year-old striker added: “The goals have fiven me more confidence.

“I was so pleased to see the crowd chanting my name. This will spur me to do more.”

He said his new club, who shelled out 14 million Euros for his services, have helped him to quickly settle down to the business of scoring goals.

“The club have helped me to settle well,” he acknowledged.

“I want to do my best to repay the club’s confidence in me.

“I’m in the right place and hopefully I will justify my being here.”

Interestingly, the Super Eagles ace would probably not have started yesterday’s game but for the fact that Loic Remy was suspended on account of accumulated bookings.
