Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has directed some appointees to resume duties in acting capacities only pending the confirmation of their appointments by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
A statement issued by the newly sworn-in Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bolaji Adebiyi, said the decision was taken in order to ensure that there is no vacuum in certain important federal government agencies.
The affected appointees are:

In another development, the Acting President has approved the deployment of 24 Permanent Secretaries.
This was contained in a circular issued by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita Assistant Director (Media Relations) in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Manga, said in a statement in Abuja that the processes for handing/taking over should be completed on or before Friday, August 25, 2017 except for deployments with specific taking over or assumption of duty dates.
