Osinbajo urges unity among APC stakeholders in Anambra

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has urged unity among members of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra state, giving assurances that they would reclaim the state from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Osinbajo, who was in Awka for Interactive Roundtable tagged, “Repositioning APC Anambra State Chapter in the Next Level,” said he was dissatisfied with the poor performance of the party in the 2019 general elections.

He said President Muhammed Buhari had the state mind, a reason he made two of their sons vice-presidential candidates in his first attempts to become president.

The VP said most of the president’s cabinet members had been people from Anambra state including Senator Chris Ngige and Barrister Sharon Ikeazor, two ministerial nominees.

“I have come to open a new chapter of APC, a new beginning in Anambra state. As we approach 2021, we will take the party to the next level. The Next Level is to produce the next governor of the state, but this can only be achieved if we work in unity.

“We must have a bigger mindset as party to win election. You are the party and should work for it. If you get a governor, nobody will come here to run it but you. Have a mindset that you will win the election. And your wish shall be granted by special grace of God. Everything is possible for those who have decided to do it. Come 2021, we will have APC governor in Anambra,” he said.

Also speaking, Senator Ngige appealed to every member of the party to eschew anger and work together to reposition the party.

Earlier, stakeholders of the party accused their representatives at the federal level of not carrying them along, as well as non-appointments of committed members into board and other key positions, including exclusion from execution of federal government projects.

The chairman of the party, Hon. Basil Ejidike, in his speech, among other things, implored the vice-president to intervene with assistance of Senator Ngige for common good of the party in the state.
