Osun 2018: PDP governorship aspirant promises to pay salary 25th of every month

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirant in Osun state, Professor Adeolu Durotoye, has promised to pay workers’ salaries every 25th day of the months.
Durotoye who is the provost of Social and Management Sciences at Afe Babalola University, made the promise while featuring on the “News Point” of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osogbo, on Friday.
He explained that arrangements have been concluded to fulfil the promise with “already concluded plan” to generate over N4 billion internally.
He promised that his administration would create 200,000 jobs in the first 12months by inviting investors and creating enabling environment for them.
Speaking on the zoning arrangement and agitation for Osun West to produce the next Governor, Durotoye maintained that intellect, exposure and manifesto should be considered in presenting a candidate.
He noted that no Senatorial District has yet to produce a governor in the state, insisting that he was the best candidate to unseat the ruling party and take the state to the next level.
“With the present situation in Osun state, we need somebody with extra-ordinary capacity, who was locally bred and globally exposed.
“I am already discussing with investors both in Nigeria and all over the world. We have plan to create 200,000 in the first 12months. We will work with private investors to achieve this. Creating 200,000 jobs is not negotiable, it is necessity.
“If we can create enabling environment for investors, it will not be difficult to generate between N4 to N6billion and pay salary on the 25th of every month.
He assured that he would get the abandoned Steel Rolling Company run if elected Governor of the state in September.
The Professor of Political Science also promised to give agriculture utmost priority, saying “Osun state would be turned to the food basket of West Africa.

He said his plan to provide free vocational training for women and free annual medical checkup for the elderly would be achievable because of the ongoing talk with the Non Governmental Organisation, NGO, and other agency that would support the programmes.
