Osun accident: Police arrest 2 protesters in Osogbo


Osun state police command Wednesday arrested two protesters in Osogbo, Osun state, for allegedly attacking policemen in the state. 


The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola, disclosed this to newsmen in Osogbo, Wednesday evening. 


According to the police spokesperson, the protesters attacked policemen who were on duty to enforce law and order when the irate youths blocked some roads and prevented vehicular movements for some hours. 


The angry youths had thronged out to protest the death of three young men who were chased to death by the operatives of Joint Task Force, Tuesday evening. 


The protesters demanded disclosure of identity of the JTF and their prosecution, but the police said their identity was yet to be known to the command. 


The police spokesperson alleged that the protesters were armed with gun and stoned policemen. 


She promised that the identity of the JTF would be revealed, calling on residents to avoid taking law into their hands.
