Osun Amotekun field commander Shittu resigns

The field commander of the Osun state security network agency (Amotekun Corps), Amitolu Shittu, has resigned his appointment.

A statement made available to our correspondent by the spokesperson of the Corps, Yusuf Idowu, indicated that Shittu who was the pioneer director-general of the Corps tendered his resignation letter to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

He appreciated former governor Adegboyega Oyetola for the opportunity given to him to serve the state, saying he had contributed his quota to the security of the state.

The letter read in part, “Let it be on record that I served my state courageously, impartially, and diligently, despite operational challenges thrown up by the enemy within the top hierarchy of the Corps due to military intrigues, vainglory and egoism, I never give an excuse and I know posterity will be kind to our contribution.”

All property including operational vehicles in his custody would be handed over to the chairman of the Board of Amotekun, Brig.-Gen. Ademola Aderibigbe (retd.).
