Osun: APC Rep’s candidate cries out over attack by opposition

A House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Obokun/Oriade Federal constituency of Osun State, Pharmacist Siji Olamiju, has cried out over attack by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said the attack was sponsored by his arc-rival in the coming election, Hon. Oluwole Oke, who is currently representing the federal constituency at the House of Representatives.

Speaking at a press conference in Osogbo, Wednesday, Olamiju also accused the police of complicity in the war against him and members of his party.

He said it is not safe to conduct election in Obokun/Oriade, stating that the police have already compromised.

The Pharmacist who explained that his campaign team was attacked and one man was stabbed.

He said the victim was asked to report at Ibokun police station, where it was learnt that the boy was beaten to stupor by the police.

He explained that he led leaders of the APC to the police station but he was not allowed to make statement by the police who also threatened them.

“We met police shooting and our campaign bus has been vandalised, having been riddled with bullet. The DPO refused to report the boy to us even despite the Commissioner of Police order. He was saying angrily ‘who is Buhari? Who is Akol? I will make sure they don’t have their ways here.

He alleged that one police officer identified as Taofeeq, supervised the harassment of the boy and later locked him up. He said the police also attempted to kill the Chairman of Oriade local government, Hon. Obeisun, when he shot at him.

“I want the highest body of the police to question the DPO in Ibokun on why he told me that they have closed for the day when I wanted to lodge complain of my vandalised vehicle.

He alleged that Oke recruited the thugs and urged the police to investigate the celebration of arms day by thugs in the area.
When the police was contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, said investigation has commenced on the matter.

He vowed that whoever is found culpable will face the wrath of law, saying that police will not delay taking them to court.
All efforts to get reaction of Hon Wole Oke proved futile as he did not answer calls nor reply text messages sent to his mobile phone.
