Osun court remands 3 for alleged robbery, illegal possession of arms

An Osun state Magistrate court, sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, on Monday, remanded three persons in Ilesa prison custody for alleged armed robbery.
The accused persons, Bayo Ajisafe (27), Wale Makinde (29), and Olatoke Taiwo (32), are facing a seven-count charge bothering on conspiracy, theft, unlawful possession of fire arms, armed robbery and attempted killing.
The Prosecutor, Mr. Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on January 15 at about 2:30am at Oke-Ola, Olarewaju street, Osogbo.
Oladoye said the accused conspired with others, now at large, to rob one Hassan Clinton, Kehinde Hazzan, Olawale Christiana, and Anjola Malik of their valuables and some cash sum of money.
He alleged thay they carted away one infinix mobile phone, one IPad, Samsung J7 mobile phone, one sicco mobile phone with other items, all valued N467,500.
The prosecution alleged thay the accused also threatened to kill Anjola Malik after robbing him of his properties.
He alleged that the accused persons were caught with guns  wguch they could not give satisfactory account of where they got it including charms.
According to the charge sheet, the offence contravened Sections 6(b), 1(2)(a)(b) , 3(1) and punishable under section 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions)  Act Cap R11 Vol. 14, laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
The plea of the accused persons was not taken due to the magnitude of the alleged offence.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Olubukola Awodele, however, ordered the trio of the accused to be kept in prison custody and adjourned the mater to April 27, for mention.
