Osun court remands 3 for robbery, possession of charms

Osun state Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, yesterday, remanded three persons in Ilesa prison custody for alleged armed robbery.
The accused persons, Bayo Ajisafe, 27, Wale Makinde, 29, and Olatoke Taiwo, 32, are facing a seven-count charge bordering on conspiracy, theft, unlawful possession of fire arms, armed robbery and attempt killing.
The Prosecutor, Mr. Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on January 15 about 2:30 am at Oke-Ola, Olarewaju Street, Osogbo.
Oladoye said the accused conspired with others, now at large, to rob one Hassan Clinton, Kehinde Hazzan, Olawale Christiana, and Anjola Malik of their valuables and some amount of money.
He alleged that they carted away one Infinix mobile phone, one IPad, Samsung J7 mobile phone, one Sicco mobile phone with other items, all valued N467, 500.
He further claimed that the accused also threatened to kill Anjola Malik after robbing him of his properties.
According to him, the accused persons were caught with guns and charms, whose source they could not satisfactorily explain.
According to the charge sheet, the offence contravened Sections 6(b), 1(2)(a)(b) , 3(1) and punishable under section 1(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap R11 Vol. 14, laws of the Federation of Nigeria.
The plea of the accused persons was not taken due to the magnitude of the alleged offence.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Olubukola Awodele, however, ordered the trio to be kept in prison custody and adjourned the mater till April 27, for mention.
