Osun family implores ‘absconding’ members to return for cleansing

The Obisesan family in Ilesa, Osun state has implored “absconding” members of the family to present themselves for purification before a deity on or before March 27, 2020.

In a statement made available to Blueprint in Abuja Wednesday, which was signed by the head of the family, Chief Amos Ojo Obisesan, alongside a police report, he said  “it is part of the prerequisites of the Obisesan family and the traditional rulers to take the children to our ancestral shrine to perform the purification exercise for them to avert the calamities in the family”.

The statement reads in part: “We the family of Obisesan at Obisesan compound, Ilesa, Osun state, is informing the general public again that the family traditional rites presentation for this year 2020 is scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2020 at the compound starting from 10.00am to 6.00pm daily.

“We are also informing our sons and daughters home and abroad that it is mandatory for the following families: Mr. Olumuyiwa Obisesan, Mr. Abiola Obisesan, Chief Babatunde Ajani Obisesan and Chief Sunday Olowolagba Obisesan, who have been absconding over the years, to bring their sons and daughters for this important purification exercise at our ancestral shrine.”

He added: “For this reason, if Mr. Olumuyiwa Obisesan, his wife – Adeola Obisesan and their children, Oladimeji, Oyinkansola and Anjolaoluwa Obisesan, and other absconding families refuse to bring their sons and daughters to the Obisesan compound for this year 2020 important family rites presentation, they will face the consequences of our ancestral curse.

“If you find any of them, their children or know their whereabouts, please do not hesitate to contact our High Chief Traditional Ruler, Amos Ojo Obisesan, at the Obisesan’s compound in Ilesa, Osun state or the nearest police station.”
