Osun gov’ship candidates vow to scrap school uniforms

Four governorship candidates in Osun state have resolved to scrap the school uniform in the state, if elected governor in the Saturday poll.
The four candidates that appeared at a debate organised by Channels Television are “Fatai Akinbade of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Moshood Adeoti of the Action Democratic Party, ADP, Iyiola Omisore of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).” In their separate response to the question about school uniform, the candidate of APC, Oyetola said he will look into it, while others said they will scrap the uniform.
However, the candidate of the PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke, refused to show up at the debate.
He had earlier shunned the invitation of the BBC Yoruba while the other major four candidates appeared.
In his response to the allegation of Bola Ige’s death, Omisore urged the federal government to search for the killer of the former Minister for Justice and others that have been murdered in the country.
He noted that the court has exonerated him from the allegation, wondering why the question arises every four years during elections.
He alleged that the state government under the administration of Governor Rauf Aregbesola is financially reckless, saying the Tablet of Knowledge (Opon Imo) is merely a scam.
On his own, the candidate of the ADP, Adeoti, said his defection from the APC was hinged on alleged marginalisation of Osun West Senatorial District from producing governor in the state.
According to him, the present administration has done many good jobs, and that the problem has always been about implementation.
Candidate of APC, Oyetola, described the direct primary election that produced him as the best in the history of primary election.
He condemned zoning arrangement being agitated for by the candidates of ADP and ADC, saying “government is a serious business that is more than zoning.”
