Osun guber: SDP, APC, PDP lure electorate with employment

By Lateef Dada Osogbo As September 22 governorship election in Osun State inches closer political parties in the state have been luring residence with employment and empowerment offers.
The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Senator Iyiola Omisore, had initiated the empowerment programme as a bait to get votes, directing graduates to approach his campaign office and pick the form.
Shortly after Omisore’s move, the All Progressives Congress, APC, despite the inability of the state to pay workers salary, began the sale of form for the third batch of O’YES cadet.
When our Correspondent visited the campaign office of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday, people were seen queuing for employment form, reportedly released by the party’s candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The O’YES cadet have started their training which would soon end.
It was gathered that the beneficiaries would be paid the usual N10,000 before the September 22 election.
The governorship candidate of the APC, Gboyega Oyetola, has also kicked off free medical care for residents in Osogbo as part of strategy to get vote from people in the coming election.
On the PDP, it was gathered that the beneficiaries of the ongoing recruitment will be given N10,000 each after two weeks training.
The nature of the job to be recruited people for, was not disclosed by both the PDP and SDP, the O’YES volunteers APC have been sweeping the major roads and cutting grass along the roads.
