Osun judiciary workers in court for ‘stealing’ typing sheets


Osun state police command Monday arraigned two workers of the state high court before a Magistrates’ court sitting in Osogbo, for allegedly stealing typing sheets. 


The accused persons, Adedoyin Adebowale (46) and Sulaiman Tajudeen (46) were alleged to have committed the offence on November 20, 2020 at the High court premises, Oke-fia, Osogbo.


Police prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode, alleged that the defendants conspired between themselves and stole six packs of Typing Sheets valued N30,000, property of Osun state Judiciary.


Prosecution said that the crime was contrary to sections 516 and 383, and punishable under section 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun state, 2002.


However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the two count charges of conspiracy and stealing preferred against them. 


Their Counsel, Mr. Taiwo Awokunle, urged the court to admit the accused to bail in the most liberal term. 


The Magistrate, Mrs Adijat Oloyade, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.


She thereby adjourned the case till January 7, 2021 for hearing.
