Osun receives 3-month-old baby, 12 others from Libya

A three-month-old baby girl and 12 others of Osun state origin that were evacuated from Libya by the federal government, were yesterday received by the state government.
A statement by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mr. Lani Baderinwa, said the 13 returnees who are indigenes of the state, comprised of five males, seven females and a three-month-old baby girl.
Receiving the returnees, Director of Operation, Osun Emergency Management Agency, Engr. Akin Adetuberu, stated that the state government could not allow them to spend extra time at the airport because it was much concerned about their health and welfare.
According Adetuberu, Governor Rauf Aregbesola was concerned about the plight of Osun indigenes within and outside the country, and commended the governor for his timely response on the transportation of the returnees to the state.
The returnees were received in Osogbo by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Mudashiru Toogun, who encouraged them to always take a legal and due process in looking for greener pasture within and outside Nigeria.
One of the returnees, Miss Fashola Moyosore, who claimed to be a native of Ile-Ife, commended the state government for the prompt step taken to ensure their return to Osun, promising that the gesture would be forever appreciated.
