Abia state chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) has promised to replicate the victory of its Anambra governorship candidate, Dr Willie Obiano come 2019 in Abia.
The party’s 2015 governorship candidate, Chief Alex Otti, stated this at a victory party in Umuahia and the defection of over 300 persons from Obingwa LGA, where the current governor hails from.
Dr Otti described the victory of Obiano as overwhelming noting he won all the 21 local governments, stressing that other candidates and their god fathers lost in their wards.
He lauded Ndi Anambra for refusing to succumb to money politics from above and for honouring late Ikemba, Emeka Ojukwu, voting overwhelmingly for the APGA.
He assured Abians that his ambition to contest the next governorship election under the party is very much alive while lauding the people of Obingwa for taking the right step by dumping the PDP for APGA.
Speaking, the leaders of the decampees, Ibe Onyeso and former Transaction Committee chairman of Obingwa LGA, Chief I Nwanmo, said they decided to dump the PDP for APGA because of the non-performance of the current governor who he said incidentally is their brother.
The representative of Anambra governor and the Secretary to the State Government, Chukwu Lebem, said he was happy over the victory party and noted that Obiano’s win is for the entire Igbo land and called on Abians to vote en masse for APGA.
