Our client not land grabber, fraudulent – Solicitors

Solicitors to Ambassador Kingsley Ifeanyi Abazie, Akunebu and Co, a legal Firm, has described as libelous and scandalous a publication dated November 22, 2022 where Abazie, the Managing Director of Ifedi Homes Limited alongside Mshel Homes were allegedly linked to land grabbing and fraudulent acquisition of people’s  land.

Against the backdrop, the legal outfit has therefore called for an immediate retraction of the story and an apology to their client.

In a letter addressed to the Editor-In-Chief of Blueprint titled; “Re-libelous and defamatory publications against Ifedi Homes”, requested for an immediate retraction and apology. The Solicitors not only punctured the allegations but also set the record straight.

In the publication, a group of land owners in Abuja had accused the duo of conniving with armed policemen and thugs in carrying out their land grabbing activities.

The alleged publication named one Monday Onimisi and Muhammed Deen Yusuf as leaders of the grabbing syndicate who operated with Ifedi Homes and one other to carry out the alleged land grabbing activities.

But while denying the allegation in a letter dated November 28, 2022, Henry Akunebu (SAN) of Akunebu and Co stated that the said publication has caused their client tremendous personality deficit, public opprobrium and disrespect amongst his business subscribers.

“Our attention has been drawn to a very libelous and scandalous publication of your news media, on the 22nd of November, 2022 where-in your paper carelessly and callously described our client as a dishonest person, a criminal, who is into land grabbing and fraudulent, acquisition of peoples land without justifications.

“It is on this unwholesome premise that we therefore call on you to immediately retract your story with a written apology to our client,” the letter reads in part.

We sincerely apologise to Ambassador Abazie and all those mentioned in the story and regret any embarrassment.
