Over 2,000 PDP, other parties defects to APC in Kogi

Over 2, 000 members of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in Inye community in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state have defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC)  in support of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming general election. 

Receiving the decampees at a rally organised by Kogi Youth Progressive Association (KYPA) at Inye community in Ankpa,  the chairman of the association,  Comrade Sanusi Abdul, said that the defection was an indication that APC is generally acceptable in the local government, promising that the party would not discriminate against any member whether old or new. 

Abdul, who cautioned the decampees and other supporters of the APC in Enjema ward 3 of Ankpa local government not to sell their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) noted that the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last  four years will endeared the electorate to again return him in 2019.

Expressing optimism that the APC would win the presidential election and the governorship election in Kogi state, the youth chairman called on the people of Ankpa to vote for Alhaji Isah Echocho as the senator of Kogi east describing him as a person who has the interest of his people at heart.

“In the last four years, President Buhari and his Vice have done a lot for the country , much better than what the PDP could not do for Nigerians in 16 years”

“I am urging you  to vote for all the APC candidates in Kogi west to take the district to another level of development. We should make a mistake in voting for any party other than APC come 2019 general election” he said

One of the decampees, Audu Abdullahi, who spoke on behalf of others, said they defected to the APC because they have seen the light in the party, assuring that they would contribute their quota to the success of the party during the general elections.
