‘Over 22, 000 Jigawa youths trained in 6 years’

Special Assistant to Jigawa state Governor Sule Lamido on Youth Development, Alhaji Aminu Suleiman Kasti, has said that over 22, 000 youths had been trained in different skills.
According to him, these youths were supported with takeoff grants by the state government in the last six years.
He disclosed this while speaking at the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje’s Palace when he paid him a courtesy call.
He said Governor Lamido was deeply concerned about the future of the youth in the state, “which is the life wire of any society in the world.”
Kasti said as a result of the importance of the youth, the Lamido administration established a Ministry of Economic Empowerment and Youth Development to take charge of developing and training youths.
“The government embarked on construction of additional 24 skills accusation centres in addition to five centres in the state, one to be in each of the 27 local government areas in the state,” he said.
Kasti stressed that at least 300 youths were recently sponsored to study various courses under the state government scholarship.
