Owerri Senatorial District: Onyeagucha presents manifesto to constituents


The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forth coming Owerri Senatorial District election, Hon. Uche Onyeagucha, Thursday, presented his manifesto to the people of the zone and the state.
Speaking at Moon Hotel Owerri, Onyeagucha said he would lobby for the ammendment of the Universal Basic Education Commission(UBEC) law to accommodate more Nigerians.

He also promised to lobby to include Owerri in railway development, adding that the area had been captured originally in the Nigerian railway plan.
He said he would lobby to construct a bye-pass in Owerri that would help engender economic development; to upgrade the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport to full fledged International Airport and ensure that the Second Niger Bridge was completed and commissioned in no distant time.

The immediate past Secretary to the Imo state government also promised to protect rights of persons living with disability, women, children and the minority and ensure the payment of disabled allowances.

Barr Onyeagucha who represented Owerri Federal Constituency in the National Assembly some years back, also promised to lobby the federal government to come and exploit the massive gas deposit in the zone; will be committed to the restructuring of the federation; support unicameral legislsture and ensure that every property owned by an individual is covered by his Biometric Verification Number(BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN), and Account Number to avoid fraud and check corruption.

He finally assured that he would lobby for political parties with membership at both state and national levels to have representatives in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure free and credible election in future.
