OYC warns against anti Buhari protest in Japan

Ohaneze Youth Council (OYC) worldwide Tuesday called on Ndigo living in Japan to shun any type of violence against President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement signed by the president general of the youth group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, he nursed the fear that attempt on Buhari will cost the lives and properties of Igbo people living in the 19 northern state of Nigeria.

The statement reads,” Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide is calling on Igbos planning any violent Protests in Japan to put off such senseless efforts as it could endanger the lives and properties of Igbos living in 19 Northern states, apart from the risk of being jailed or deportations from Japan.

“Most of those sponsoring the supposed planned attack or trying to carry out the assault on President Buhari, do not have any investment in Nigeria particularly the South-east.

“Attacking President Muhammadu Buhari in Japan is not an achievement, but will portray Igbos before the international community as ‘terrorists’.

“We should not worsen the fragile security situation in the country by introducing violent Protests and approach the will attract reprisal attacks on the peace loving Igbos staying in Northern Nigeria.
