Minna

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun will tomorrow in Minna receive defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the member of the Niger state House of Assembly representing Suleja, Shuiabu Iya.
This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Niger state Secretary of APC, Barrister Mohammed Liman, adding that six governors “will also grace the event scheduled to hold at trade fair complex, Minna.”
Liman said the defectors, including some PDP local government chairmen, ward chairmen and former council chairmen would be led by the state deputy chairman of PDP, Alhaji Aminu Yusus.
He said the mass defection of the PDP members to the ruling APC was an indication that the party was widely acceptable in the Niger state, adding that the party was also well-grounded in the state.
While calling on party faithful to mobilise for the ceremony, the secretary expressed gratitude to those “who have found it worthy to join the APC,” assuring that government “will continue to serve the interest of the people and bring positive change in all facets and sectors in the state.”
He said the doors of the party were open to all people interested in joining hands with the Governor Abubakar Sani Bello administration for the development of the state.
