Oyetola warns Corps members against influencing posting

Osun state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, has advised corps members posted to the state to accept their postings to primary place of assignment in good faith and deliver as expected of them.

He warned the corps members against influencing their posting to the urban cities alone, assuring that the state would ensure their good living in the state.

Speaking at the permanent orientation camp Ede, during the closing ceremony of 2019 Batch ‘A’ orientation course on Tuesday, Oyetola reiterated his administration’s commitment to the welfare and security of the corps members.

He said, “I enjoin you to accept your postings to the different local governments in good faith. Do not cut short the expectation of the good people of the state of Osun by trying to influence your posting to urban cities alone.

“The people of the state both in the urban and rural areas await your coming and unconditional acceptance of them and their ways of life. Do not deny these people access to your expertise.

In his address, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Emmanuel Attah, warned the corps members against using their uniform to commit crime.

He advised them to shun any act that may hinder their state in the state, stressing that the scheme will not be lenient with any corps member linked with crime.

“I admonish you to shun all forms of indiscipline, corrupt practices, partisan politics, religious extremism, unauthorized journeys and disrespect for the socio-cultural values of your host communities.

“Let me warn that the uniform you are putting on, is not an immunity to commit crime. If you do so, the law will take its full course.

He urged employers to provide adequate comfort for the corps members and treat them with respect and dignity, warning “it should be clear that no employer should give travelling permission to corps members without recourse to the NYSC Secretariat.
