Accord Party’s governorship candidate in Oyo state and former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) deputy governor Chief Adebayo Adelabu has said his party as the only alternative for the people of Oyo state will would win the 2023 governorship elections.
Chief Adelabu stated this in Ibadan while featuring on Fresh FM 105.9
interview programme, “South West Political Circuit” .
The governorship candidate declared that in Oyo state as at present, no fewer than 80 percent of the APC have joined him and his team in Accord Party and that several others were on their way into the party.
According to Adelabu, Accord party has been enjoying massive support in Oyo state and that the party has quality candidates vying for the 55 elective positions in the state.
Speaking further, the Accord party governorship candidate in the state said he was allegedly rigged out of the All Progressives (APC) governorship race in the state through, attributing his loss to conspiracy by those he said were against having Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
He pointed out that those behind the alleged conspiracy were of the notion that his closeness with Asiwaju Tinubu could be an advantage to his presidential ambition then, saying
upon the alleged conspiracy, he had no other option than to withdraw from the APC primary election on noticing clear departure from the tradition of the party and brazen illegality.
“Let me say categorically that I was robbed of the ticket because of my relationship with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Five Senators conspired to install Lawan as APC presidential candidate.
“The five senators are Senate President, Senators Ahmed Lawan, APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, APC National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore, Tokunbo Afikuyomi and Teslim Folarin.”, he said.
The Accord governorship candidate added, “they installed Folarin knowing full well that I wont work against the candidature of Tinubu and anyone who emerges the governorship candidate will be in control of delegates from the state”.
