Oyo: Court remands 2 for defiling minors

 

Oyo state family Court 2 sitting in Ibadan on Thursday remanded two elderly men at Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo for allegedly defiling two minors.

The two suspects were charged to court by Anti-Human trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Oyo state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Oyo state NSCDC, Commandant, CC Michael Akintayo Adaralewa, the first suspect Kayode Akinsile, 60, M, of Alafara Ona Ara, Ibadan was first arrested on 15th June, 2021 and was granted bail but allegedly went ahead to defile another minor and was rearrested on 7th July, 2021.

Commandant Adaralewa stated that the second suspect Dr. Ajelere Ajewumi, 68, M from Oki Olodo, Ibadan was arrested for alleged  illegal adoption and defilement of 14years old girl.

After hearing the charges against the two suspects,Chief Magistrate P. O. Adetoyibo of the Family court 2 Iyaganku, Ibadan ordered that the two suspects be remanded  till September. 

Speaking on the suspects after the Court proceedings, Commandant Adaralewa said the two suspect were arraigned in court after Forensic/ Medical examination and thorough investigation.
