Oyo: Don’t let congresses split APC, Ajanaku pleads with loyalists

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state, Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku, has advised members of the party not to allow the forthcoming congresses divide them.

Asiwaju Ajanaku stated this Sunday while speaking at his empowerment programme held at Dino Hotel, Oke Ado area of Ibadan for APC members from Ibadan Southwest and Northwest federal constituency.

He distributed money to traders and motorcycles to some members for ease of movement.

The APC chieftain stated that there is need for all leaders, members and stakeholders in the party to come together as one of in the interest of the party.

Asiwaju Ajanaku added that the forthcoming congresses of the party should serve as a source of unity to move the party forward and fly high in the forthcoming elections in Oyo state.

The APC chieftain tasked members of the party to go out

and get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in order to ensure that candidates of the party are elected.

Speaking at the empowerment programme, the director general, Rotimi Ajanaku Campaign Organization, Hon. Alade Suleiman Abiola, assured all APC members that the exercise will be a continuous one and no one would be left out.

“This is not the first Empowerment Programme or support to humanity to be organised by Asiwaju Ajanaku. Our organisation has offered a lot of assistance to the people of Oyo state this year. We have over 85 students in various schools, both local and international, benefitting from our full scholarship programme. Now it is our party member’s turn. That is the reason behind this programme. It is a continuous programme. So, for those who missed out today, next one is at the door,” he said.

In his remarks, the APC Caretaker Committee vice chairman, Prince Adefioye Adekanye, who represented the chairman Chief Akin Oke, described Ajanaku as one of the pillars holding the party together in the state.

“Rotimi is yet to be federal law maker, but in his constituency, Ibadan Southwest and Northwest federal constituency, his positive impacts on the lives of both politicians and electorates is outstanding. His attitude and humility cannot be matched by any politician, especially those who see themselves in the class of well-to-do Nigerians,” he said.
