Oyo NSCDC beefs up security for Sallah

Commandant of Oyo state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. John Adewoye, has ordered his men and officers to beef up security across the state for the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.

Adewoye in a statement issued by the Command in Ibadan by its Public Relations Officer, DSC Olusegun Oluwole, declared that no fewer than 3, 000 of its men and officers would be deployed to different parts of the state to ensure hitch-free celebrations.

“The Commandant felicitates with all Muslim faithful in the state as he wishes them happy Eid el-Kabir celebration. Commandant John Adewoye also uses the medium to direct all the Divisional Officers across the state to see this season of celebration as a challenge in order to beef up security in their various divisions,” the statement read in part.

The commandant said his men would also intensify “surveillance and patrol of critical infrastructure, flash sports, shopping mall, recreation centres, NNPC right of ways, Muslim praying grounds across the state to forestall criminality” in their efforts towards making Oyo state crime-free during the Eid el-Kabir celebration.”

Adewoye while soliciting the support and cooperation of the people in the state urged them to volunteer information to the NSCDC in their neighborhood or call: 09055533301, 09055533303, whenever they suspect any strange movement or a crime was being committed.
