Oyo/Osun Customs generates N43.6 bn in 7months – Comptroller

Comptroller of the Oyo/Osun Command of the Nigeria Customs Service,  Mrs. Uche Ngozi on Thursday said the command generated N43. 6 billion between February and October, this year.

Mrs Ngozi stated this at a post EndSARS  press conference in Ibadan to highlight activities of the command held at its command headquarters .

The Oyo/Osun Area comptroller stressed that since the EndSARS protest, the command have made series of interceptions along various unapproved routes which has helped with 624 bags of 50kg each of foreign parboiled rice with Duty Paid Value of N27.0million and 214 kegs of 25litres each of Premium Motor Spirit.

She stressed “in accumulation from February, 2020 till date, 19th November, 2020, the Command sized “11,418 bags of rice, 340 block of Indian hemp, 91 gallons /103 kegs of vegetable oil, 325 bales of second hand clothing , 800 bags of fertilizer, 41units of motorcycles, 39 Cars, 6 trucks , 5 pick up, 9 SUV ,1 Truck tanker and 7 Bus.

“Within same time frame, the command has collected a total duty of N43.6  billion with outstanding balance of N1.087 billion which could not hit the account in October due to some technical issues but shall reflect in the November, 2020”, he said.
