Oyo records new COVID-19 positive case

The acting Chairman of Oyo state COVID-19 Task Force, Professor Temitope Alonge, on Saturday disclosed that the state has recorded another positive case of coronavirus .

Prof Alonge in a statement stressed that with the latest development, the state has now recorded a total of nine case so far.

He stated that the latest coronavirus positive person has been moved into one of the isolation centres in the state.

“The Oyo state COVID -19 task force wishes to announce through this medium that the state has recorded another positive case of COVID -19, bringing to nine, the total of positive cases in the state.

According to Prof Alonge, “the latest case is a close contact of the second confirmed case who subsequently developed symptoms.”

He said the activities at the Emergency Operations Centre, (EOC) are being ramped up and reviewed to meet the evolving nature of the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The Oyo COVID-19 acting chairman also hinted that arrangements had been concluded to decontaminate (fumigate) markets spread across the state, and that the decontamination would be carried out by using experts from the University of Ibadan, while the exact date of the exercise would be communicated through the heads of markets.
