Ozigizigi biography

The Ozigizigi Foundation has concluded plans to present the biography of the Late Ebira hero and traditional ruler, Adayi Ozigizigi, of Obehira, Kogi central senatorial district.
In a statement by the communication consultant, Emmanuel Omadivi, the book, Strides of Ozigizigi in Ebira History, has chronicled the political exploits of this great Hero which culminated in his contest for the position of the Central Rulership of Igbira Division which eventually led to the emergence of Adayi Ibrahim Onoruoiza Atta as the District Head of Igbira (a position now referred to as Ohinoyi Ebira).
Omadivi said the Book also brought to the limelight events that also culminated in Adayi Ozigizigi acting as the District Head of Igbira between July 17 and September 4, 1924.
According to him, Ozigizigi’s period of self-exile to Auchi, where he was the guest of the Otaru of Auchi for over seven years, was also clearly brought out in the Book.
Furthermore, his relationship with the early Roman Catholic Missionaries sent to Igbira was also well captured and documented.
He was also said to have presided over the traditional throne of Otaru Idu of Ovehira until his death in 1962.
The book presentation, which is slated for April 7, 2018 in Ovehira, Okene local government area of Kogi state, will have the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, and the paramount traditional ruler of the land, Alhaji Dr. Ado Ibrahim, as Special Guest of Honour and the Royal Father of the Day, respectively.
A former Director-General of the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and the Ohietohueyi of Ebira, Dr. Tom A. Adaba, would preside over the occasion as Chairman, while Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar (Gamji) would be the Chief Launcher.
