Palliatives: Ondo lawmaker disburses N1.5m cash to constituents

The lawmaker representing Akure Constituency 2 in the Ondo state House of Assembly, Mr Sunday Olajide, Thursday in Akure, disbursed N1.5 million cash to 150 members of his constituency.

Some beneficiaries got N5, 000 each while some others received N10, 000 each on the occasion.

Olajide, in his remarks, noted that the gesture was part of the efforts to cushion the effects of the ravaging global pandemic on the people.

He also said that the gesture was apolitical and as such, was not limited to any political class.

The lawmaker urged his constituents to continue to obey the stay-at-home order and observe social distancing as well as continue to stay safe in order to ensure the timely defeat of the pandemic.

A clergyman, Pastor Wole Oniyere, who appreciated the gesture on behalf of other beneficiaries, said the lawmaker was committed to the well-being of his people.

Oniyere noted that the gesture would go a long way in cushioning the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown among the beneficiaries.
