Pandemonium as gunmen kill couple, driver In Imo community

Gunmen suspected to be hired assassins, Tuesday January 10, 2023, cut short the lives of a couple who came back to Ndiejezie, Arondizuogu, Ideato North in Imo State to wed.

Also killed was their brother who was the driver taking them home in his Keke Napep in preparation for the wedding ceremony.

An indigene of the area, who informed the police about the incident and some dastardly acts like kidnapping and killing that occurred in the community and environs last year, also disclosed that two vehicles – a Lexus 350 and Range Rover Sport were burnt the same day.

He regretted that the information he gave out to the police last year was not acted on as the atrocities continued, thereby making it impossible for people to come back home for the last Christmas and New Year celebrations and that the few that came back could not move around with their cars.

Blueprint also gathered that since Wednesday morning, people have started moving out from the community for fear of being attacked by gunmen or security agencies as a result of the incident.

However, Imo Police spokesman, CSP Mike Abattam, is yet to react to this incident.
