Panic as Gowon slumps at Ejoor’s funeral

A former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, was said to have slumped during the funeral of Maj. Gen. David Akpodiete Ejoor in Delta state.

Gowon reportedly slumped mid-way during oration at the graveside of the late Maj.Gen. Ejoor in Ovwor-Olomu community, Ughelli South local government area of the state.

It was gathered that military personnel present at the occasion made efforts to bar visual coverage of the incident as an ambulance was immediately stationed in front of the special tent where it occurred.

The military head of state was said to have been immediately rushed by some top echelons of the military into the special tenth for emergency resuscitation.

Also, the governor of Delta state, Ifeanyi Okowa and a former governor of the state, James Ibori, were seen dashing into the tent.

Shortly after, Ibori and Okowa were seen coming from the special tent, an indication that the former Heda of State had recovered.

Blueprint reports that no official statement had been made by the military and the Delta state government at time of filing in this report.
