Parallel APC interim exco emerges in Oyo

The crisis rocking the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo state has assumed a fresh dimension as a faction of the party raised a parallel interim state executive council of the party.
The APC faction also dissociated itself from last week’s inauguration of the harmonise committee of the party by the South-west national vice-chairman of the party, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.
According to the APC faction, comprising members of the defunct Congress for Progress Change (CPC), the parallel interim state executive committee is to be led by Alhaji Suleiman Oyeremi as the new state chairman of the APC in Oyo state.
Speaking after his nomination, Oyeremi lauded the APC leaders and members for chosen him as the party’s interim chairman for Oyo state.
Oyeremi lamented the hidden agenda of some of the party’s stalwarts in Oyo state which, he said, negated the real concept behind the formation of APC.
He urged all APC members in the state to be patient and give the desired support to the party, saying that by the time their preferred candidate, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, “becomes the governor come 2015 everybody will have course to smile.”
Speaking, one of the APC governorship aspirants, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, dissociated himself and the faction from the inauguration of the harmonised Committee of the party by Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, last week.
The APC governorship aspirant said the last week harmonisation was purely a show by defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (CAN) leaders with few of their stooges in other parties.
