The National Chairman of the National Democratic Liberty Party (NDLP), Alhaji Muhammadu Umaru Maizabura, has called on Nigerians to dump elite oriented parties and join his party for good leadership and governance.
The chairman said elite parties only have competence in looting of the nation’s resources, adding that their performances since the inception of democracy in 1999 are clear evidence.
He, therefore, urged the people to join NDLP, which he described as the masses oriented party.
The chairman, who was also the presidential aspirant of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), said both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP) have failed Nigerians, noting that the NDLP will them for better services.
“This party was created purposely for the masses, as we realized that the elites party have failed Nigerians, the elites are doing nothing that to steal and loot the nations resources.
“The party, which has it presence across the 36 states and FCT, is going to provide a better candidates to the Nigerian masses at all levels. This party belong to the masses and will be driven by the masses”, he added.
According to him, since the demise of Nigeria’s founding fathers like Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe and Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, successive politicians had failed the nation.
He frowned at the level of corruption going on in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration stressing that the war against corruption has failed because Buhari is surrounded by corrupt elements.
Speaking on the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election, Maizabura lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting free and fair election and called on the commission to replicate same in 2019 general elections.
