PCC resolves 428 cases in Kogi

The Public Complaint Commission (PCC), Kogi state has disclosed that 428 cases received from the general public in the state had been resolved while 235 cases are still pending as at April this year. Director of Investigation, Mr Tom Acheneje, who disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja while handing over to the newly appointed Commissioner, Mr Otitoju Gabriel Olusuyi, said a total of 631 cases were handled in 2017 out of which 388 were successfully resolved while 247 were pending. Acheneje noted that most of the cases received were petitions by civil servants over wrongful termination of appointments, unpaid salaries and non-payment of compensations for landed property.
The director identified inadequate office accommodation, poor funding, recalcitrant posture of some respondents and lack of power to enforce decisions, as some of the challenges militating against the smooth operations of the commission the state. The new PCC Commissioner, Mr Olusuyi, assured that the commission under his leadership would ensure justice is served to people of the state. While promising to take a tour of the local government areas in the state to sensitise and also get complaints from the grassroots with a view to resolving them, Olusuyi urged staff of the commission to join hands with him in actualising the vision of the PCC.
