PCNI spends N800 m on instructional materials for teachers, student in North-east

The Vice Chairman of the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative (PCNI) Alhaji Tijani Musa Tumsa has said the committee has spent 800 million Naira on instructional materials for Primary and Secondary school in the North-east.

Alhaji Tumsa stated this in an interview with the News men in Gombe shortly after the flag off of the distribution of the instructional material in Gombe on Tuesday.

He said 6,750 teachers and 67,500 students in the North-east will benefit from the gesture.

The chairman said the instructional material will impact on the children of Gombe and North -east which had the most out of school children in Nigeria.

“The indices that are associated with the states in the North-east particularly on education are very poor.

 Also speaking while presenting a paper entitled ‘Roles of Instructional Material on Student, Academic Performance in schools’ the guest speaker Dr Nasiru Mohammed of the Department of Instructional Technology, School of Education Federal College of Education (Tech) Gombe, said Instructional materials convey curriculum contents for effective assimilation.

 On his part,  the Gombe state Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Isiaku Abdullahi said Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo has invested so much in education.

He said in his eight years tenure, he has renovated almost all the Primary and Secondary schools in the state and 95 per cent of the schools were fenced in order to ensure security.
