PDP awaits South West nominees

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) has confirmed that the SouthWest was yet to send in the names of its representatives in the recently constituted 14-man Review Committee,  which will review the party’s performances in the 2019 general elections.

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, confirmed this at the end of the party’s 89th emergency NEC also disclosed that the 14-man committee is expected to review the party performance and submit report.

Ologbondiyan added that “the South west zonal chairman, Eddy Olafeso, is still consulting. The decision was the function of the zonal offices, not the national working committee (NWC). So the South west zonal chairman has promised to submit the names.

“NEC members agreed all members will obey the rule that guide the congresses. Our minimum is the blast presidential convention not Port Harcourt.

“The world is waiting for supreme court on Imo state. On other states and the presidential election, NEC also agreed to approach every issue with absolute caution in relation to the weight of evidence”.

He confirmed that the governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed, was appointed the chairman of its 14-man committee.

Ologbondiyan said “PDP NEC appoints governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed as chairman and PDP deputy national secretary, Dr Emmanuel Agbo, as the Secretary of the committee.

He said “Others include: North East, former Speaker of House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara and Alhasan  Muhammed, North West, former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki, North Central, former governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, Istafanus Gyang, South East, Francis Nwaifuru, Austin Nnamani and South South, Austin Okpara, Stella Omu.
