The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation has asserted that the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can only perform better than the ruling party in large scale corruption, anti-democratic activities and profligacy.
According to the organisation’s Director General, Rotimi Amaechi, who is also the Minister of Transport, the PDP is notorious for corruption and must therefore be stopped from returning to power in the forthcoming general elections.
Ameachi, who spoke at the Bindow Jibrilla Governorship Campaign flag off in Yola, Adamawa State yesterday, said the PDP in the 16 years of its administration had almost stolen Nigeria blind and has been finding it difficult to stand the three years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s carefully managed economy that abhour corruption.
“That is why they (PDP) are fighting the President so that, they can come back and continue with their stealing. The APC has achieved a lot in under-4 years in power than the 16 wasted years of the PDP corrupt administration.
“But the PDP cannot defeat the APC in any election. In fact, the only area where the PDP can beat the APC is in the area of corruption. And we challenged the PDP to debates on the performances of both parties.
Earlier, the APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole accused the PDP and its presidential candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, of planning to sell Nigeria, if elected.
“Let me not talk much about the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate Peter Obi who said that they are business men and that if elected they will sell Nigeria, they will sell the NNPC among others. If they sell all these assets where can we get money to developed the country?”, he asked.
Further, he said Atiku as Vice President under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo government sold NEPA, Nigerian Airways, among many other national assets, but regretted that the money cannot be accounted for.
He, therefore, called on Nigerians not to give Atiku and the PDP another to milk the country dry and then accused Obasanjo and Atiku of squandering $I6bn in the name of providing electricity while Nigerians continue without actually enjoying power.
Oshiomhole urged the people to return both President Buhari and Governor Bindow to power to continue in the good work of transforming the country and Adamawa State respectively.
Meanwhile, Bindow has promised to consolidate on his achievements and move Adamawa State to next level if re – elected.
The governor, who said that he has performed creditably and therefore deserves a second tenure adding that his good works speak, told the people he does not need campaign since they can testify to tremendous achievements, which he said even his political foes cannot deny.
He called on the people of the state and the entire North east to re- elect president Buhari stressing that the state and the zone have no alternative to Buhari stressing that re- electing him is compulsory.
