PDP cannot afford to lose Oyo 2023 – Vice Chairman warns

The  National Vice Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP),  South West, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, on Wednesday warned that the party cannot afford to lose Oyo state to internal wrangling come 2023 general elections.

Ambassador Arapaja handed down the warning in Ibadan Wednesday when he led the party’s reconciliation team to the residence of the former Deputy Governor Of Oyo State, Alhaji. Hazeem Gbolarumi.

The PDP National Vice Chairman stressed that to avoid PDP losing Oyo state in the coming elections, the time has come for all aggrieved leaders and members of the party to unite and forge ahead as a strong team. 

He emphasised that there was need for PDP leaders and members in Oyo state to forget their differences and come together as one.

“We should not let this allow us to lose this government of the state like it happened in 2011 which resulted into eight years of suffering”.

“Let us all believe that there would be a positive  change if we all work together to make things work out for good, with this alone we can all benefit. We are facing more than  enough challenges in Southwest PDP and it would be a big slap on myself and you if I fail to reconcile with my own people at home because they say, Charity begins at home.This is a big task for everyone of us and I would continue to seek for  your support on this”, he said.

Ambassador Arapaja pointed out that sometimes ago, he met with some  aggrieved PDP leaders including Alhaji Olopoeyan and Alhaja Mulikat and he felt everyone had reason to register their displeasure with the situation of things at all times.

The PDP National Vice Chairman cautioned, “We should all know that we should not let this allow us lose this Government of the state like it happened in 2011 which resulted into 8 years of suffering.”

The PDP Southwest Woman Leader , Alhaja Bose Adedibu while speaking said the reconciliation team visit to the residence of Alhaji Gbolarumi was meant to revalidate their unification agenda on pending crisis within the party.

“There is the need for all hands to be on the deck for the genuine reconciliation of aggrieved members of the party with everyone coming together and champion the mission to reposition our party in South West.

Oyo state former deputy governor while welcoming the reconciliation team promised to support Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja in his agenda to reposition PDP.
