The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Benue state chapter, has congratulated Governor Samuel Ortom over his victory at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
The governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Emmanuel Jime and his party had gone before the court challenging the judgement of the Benue Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which upheld the victory of Governor Ortom at the 2019 elections.
The appellate court, Thursday, dismissed the appeal by Jime and his party, the APC for lack of merit.
Reacting to the judgement through a press statement issued by the state publicity secretary of PDP, Mr Bemgba Iortyom, the party said the decision of the court was an affirmation of the decision, which was taken by the people of Benue state at the 2019 polls handing a second term of office to Governor Ortom.
The PDP also stated that in affirming the popular decision of the people, the appellate court boosted citizen’s confidence in its integrity as truly a temple of justice.
